3D Printing requires that your models be "air-tight". You can use the Stitch & Close command to automatically repair one or more meshes by stitching and closing any open edges they contain. In the example shown below, over 70,000 open edges are fix automatically.

In the car body example shown below, Diagnose was performed before and then after Stitch & Close is used. The before image shows open edges (i.e., "cracks") and you can clearly see that the bottom of the car is an open shell. The after image shows zero open edges and the mesh was closed automatically. ![]() Diagnose reports over 26,000 open edges! ![]() After Stitch & Close, Diagnose reports 0 <zero> open edges and the mesh is closed! |
In the example shown below, Diagnose was performed before and then after Stitch & Close is used. The "before" image shows over 12,000 open edges in the mesh model. The Stitch & Close tool is used and the "after" image shows 0 (zero) open edges. ![]() Diagnose reports over 12,000 gaps and open edges in this mesh! ![]() After using Stitch & Repair, Diagnose now reports 0 <zero> gaps and open edges in the mesh! |
