The ART module is used to convert artwork into geometry suitable for machining or 3D printing. To accomplish this, you utilize modeling techniques unique to the ART module that are found within the “Relief Operations” tabbed browser window or the “Raster to Vector” tabbed browser window. These modeling operations augment the traditional modeling methods available in VisualCAD.
The created geometry will be displayed on the graphics screen by the ART module for easy visualization and modification if necessary. At any point during the geometry creation, the ART geometry can be exported to VisualCAD. This geometry can then be used in any downstream applications to create the physical part. The standard work flow of ART module mimics this process and can be represented by the flow chart shown below.
