Assign regions in 2½ axis machining operations that define regions to be avoided by the cutter during machining. These regions will be defined by 2D curves and selected as part of the machining features definition during Machining Operation creation.

Select curve(s) as a Drive/containment region first, before selecting an avoid region.

Note that the toolpath uses the avoid regions as trim regions. Which means, the toolpath will be trimmed by the avoid regions after generation.

|
This behavior will be enforced in all operations that do not require containment regions or use open containment regions.
|
|
In operations where closed regions are required to define the geometry to cut such as pocketing, these avoid regions will be merged into the containment region and the toolpath generated.
|
|
Avoid regions are available in 2 ½ Axis Facing and Pocketing operations.
