What is a Solid?

In VisualCAM a solid is defined as a water tight and closed shape.  A Mesh solid is a shape that is made up of triangles while a Solid is a shape that is made up of NURBS faces.  The term Mesh Solid can be used in that the Solid commands expect the input to be a closed mesh and not an open one.  Here some additional important concerning Meshes and Solids:

Note!Even though it is not possible to create open meshes using the VisualCAM User Interface, they could be imported in from other file formats.

Note!It is possible to create open NURBS faces VisualCAM that are not closed as well as import them from other file formats.
