Control Geometry tab, Mill Operations

Control Geometry refers to curves that already exist in your model, or separate new curves you create that coexist with your part.  The following Control Geometry tab is displayed for all Mill operations.  It allows you to assign either Part Regions, Containment Regions, Avoid Regions and/or Start Points depending on the current operation type.  Each region type is assigned a sub-tab within the dialog with the regions are listed.  The definition of each region type is provided below.  Be sure to review the list of Related Topics at the bottom of this topic for more information about Machining Regions.

Attention!Regions must be selected before they can be used in an operation. It should be noted that regions can be created and be present in a part file but if they are not selected in a machining operation then they will be ignored during toolpath computation.  So creating a region does not make it active; you must use the Select Pre-Defined button before you Generate the toolpath.
