The following Entry/Exit tab is displayed for the 2½ Axis Thread Milling operation. Entry and Exit determines the way in which tool enters and leaves the part geometry. MILL Module allows you to specify how the cutter approaches, engages, retracts and departs when starting and stopping a cut.

Check the box to insert Linear Approach and Linear Departure motions and then enter a Length value. These motions are shown Green in the illustration below.

Enter a value for Edge Clearance. The added radial Approach and Departure motions will clear the part by this minimum distance.
